A Simple song - The grass and mud of nostalgia

This is a painting which represents the simpler times gone by, when children played with their pets,toys and small things made people happy. Children preferred the outdoors as opposed to the gadgets of today which keep the kids of today glued indoors with no physical activity. It is a trip down memory lane and as an adult of today having seen the changes over the past few decades, I prefer the old days of fun filled activity. 

I have used broad brush strokes with a sense of looseness to create the carefree times. It was a calculated move to not over work the painting, maintain the underpainting and use bold brush strokes to bring life and freshness to the work
