Juxtaposition on canvas
Harmony & ecstasy
Acrylic on canvas 60" x 36"
In most of my paintings I like to create a scenario of chaos and yet a blend of situations, postions of the form and the use of timeless props. It is juxtapositon of sorts influenced by the play of light and shade, and the use of contrasting color to create a dramatic effect. I want to leave the viewer searching for his or her own connect through my work. Mundane objects like the fan, the old phone with the receiver off the hook or the gramaphone have a part to play in creating the mood. Figurative connotations are reflected to show another space or view point of the situation. Hence I would call it a juxtaposition to tell a story.
